Hey guys, something a little different today. Typically we talk business and entrepreneurship. I’m assuming the reason your interested in business and entrepreneurship is to grow your wealth and part of that is personal finance, budgeting, and being smart with your money, as well as making your money work for you.

While I’m not an expert in the investing realm, I do try to educate myself and make smart decisions. Over the years I’ve had some success investing and buying individual stocks and have also had some failures.

Lately I’ve been noticing that 9 out of 10 individual stocks I buy do well, but that one bad stock can drag down the rest of your portfolio. Currently I’m sitting on a pretty big loss from Twitter and also Lannet Inc.

I’ve also noticed that my Wealthfront and Betterment accounts while up money, are giving me pretty underwhelming returns.

I’ve decided to go with an index investing strategy and recently closed out my wealthfront and betterment accounts, sold a lot of my individual stocks and am going to be throwing all my money into VTSAX until I reach Admiral Share status, and then I’ll slowly start diversifying a little bit and buying another index fund until I hit Admiral status and will continue to do the same.
